This Blog Has Moved!

I moved my blog on New Years Day, 2010. If you haven't come to see my new blog, head on over HERE now. This blog will be available for archive reading but I won't be posting here anymore. I hope you'll join me at my new bloggy home!

p.s. I am slowly but surely moving all the blogs I follow over to the new blog, so if I haven't come to visit you for a while, my advice is to leave a comment on my new blog, so I don't miss you in the shuffle!

About Me

My photo
I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

Toy Drive 2009

Every year, I donate a teddy bear in memory of my babybear to the Children's Miracle Toy Drive. This is the teddy bear I donated this year.

I like to think he'll bring a smile to some deserving child this year. Just because Christmas no longer exists for me, doesn't mean it has to cease to exist for someone else.

He is adorable Ter, and will be a great joy to whoever gets him with all the love coming with him too. You will always exist to Jesus, the one who's birth we celebrate. He will always love you Ter. Love you too.

Love and Hugs, Laurie

What an adorable bear! It will definitely put a big smile on a child's face - it put one on mine just seeing the photo. :) Such a sweet & thoughtful thing to do.

That is sweet and he is a cute bear and I can probably promise you it will bring a smile to a child's face.

Ter, Christmas maybe does exist for you, you just have taken a new role. By giving to other people like you do, you have taken on an angelic type role, almost like a Santa. You do have a wonderful spirit.

That bear is precious.

What a good idea. I think I'll steal your idea and donate in honor of my angels.

Ter, got your comment...Sorry for the confusion. I corrected my blog in case anyone else got confused. Nick is not deployed. He is here until Sept 2010 before he leaves again. I meant that I want my normal husband back. He has not been himself ever since we (or I) started the adoption back up after we (or he) called it quits.
Its such a hard place to be in.

Hey Ter-
Just bounced over from Amber's blog. I can't really put into words how sorry I am for your loss. That is a wonderful idea to donate a bear to help create a wonderful christmas for another child.
