This Blog Has Moved!

I moved my blog on New Years Day, 2010. If you haven't come to see my new blog, head on over HERE now. This blog will be available for archive reading but I won't be posting here anymore. I hope you'll join me at my new bloggy home!

p.s. I am slowly but surely moving all the blogs I follow over to the new blog, so if I haven't come to visit you for a while, my advice is to leave a comment on my new blog, so I don't miss you in the shuffle!

About Me

My photo
I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

Angel of the Heart

I meant to blog about this last week...

My wonderful friend sent this to me for Mother's Day, knowing how hard it would be this year. It is the "Angel of the Heart" Willow Tree Angel. I absolutely love it. She sent me the lovely card behind the angel as well.

This is my second Willow Tree Angel. I got another one shortly after my husband died from another friend called "Angel of Courage".

Sometimes it's the small things that make my day. Thank you so much.

Etsy Addiction Spoils Surprise

Have you ever seen something and thought to yourself, "OMG, that's SO made for me!" ?

Well, last week, I took a gander at Etsy as means of procrastination, and I came across this:

So, without even thinking about it, I bought it!

Now, for those who know me well, know that I usually analyze everything to death before I buy it. I will debate back and forth and ask everyone I know "should I get this? should I? Is it worth the money?" Usually, this results in it being too late for me to buy something (just ask Alli about the bookshelves!)

This time I did not.

I just KNEW that this was made for me!

Little did I know...

It really WAS made for me!!

It was a custom order that my friend Jo put in specifically for me. I only found out because I emailed Jo a link to that particular item with big bold letters that said "LOOK WHAT I BOUGHT!!!!"

and Jo was like "uh, you have to cancel your order!"

Of course, I had to ask why, and Jo, being all panicky, couldn't think of a good excuse why I should cancel my order, and out came the truth.

Isn't that hilarious?? We all had a good laugh, Jo, Michele (the shop owner), and myself. Michele gracefully offered to reimburse me or to make something else for me with that fabric. You can guess what I chose, because I love that fabric so much!

So, the next time you see something and think it was made just for you, maybe it was !!

Little Things Matter Most

Today, we went to our friends house for supper and a long overdue visit. Next month, we are having our annual BBQ and Balloon Release in honor of our daughter, and our friends are hoping to come, but just in case they don't make it, JK gave me a giftbag and told me to open it now. The picture to the left is what was in the bag. A little pink Teddy for our babybear, a book that we can read out loud to her, so she can hear us read to her from Heaven, and a bag of teddy bear cookies to munch on while we read the story. It may not seem like much to some people, but it means so much to me because of the thought behind it. It is such a wonderful feeling to have my daughter remembered and recognized. Thank you, J & J.... words can not express how much your support and friendship has meant to me over the last few years.
