This Blog Has Moved!

I moved my blog on New Years Day, 2010. If you haven't come to see my new blog, head on over HERE now. This blog will be available for archive reading but I won't be posting here anymore. I hope you'll join me at my new bloggy home!

p.s. I am slowly but surely moving all the blogs I follow over to the new blog, so if I haven't come to visit you for a while, my advice is to leave a comment on my new blog, so I don't miss you in the shuffle!

About Me

My photo
I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

African Violet

My African Violet has not bloomed for a very long time.

This year it finally did.

(they're actually dark purple, you know, VIOLET)

What's the secret?

I think I know....

This little Bear Fairy.

She took up residence in the flower pot only a couple weeks before it began to bud.

Yes, that must be why.

Fairies are Magical....

But when they are Bear Fairies...

why, that's even more special!

My spine tingled (in a good way) when I saw your post. I had inherited my mother's African violets when she died and they didn't bloom for me for years. When they did, it was always a sign of good things to come. Always. May it be so for you, too.

Ter,

Those are the prettiest violets I've ever seen! The flowers are clustered together so closely. They are just gorgeous. (Personally, I think the "magic" of the Bear Fairy is LOVE). Maybe the violets sensed your loving presence when you placed Bear Fairy there? You never know. :)

So pretty! I need a bear fairy. I've been able to keep 2 African Violet plants alive for 3 or so years now, but no blooms since I bought them.

HI, I just found your blog and have spent the last two hours reading all your entries.

I had a stillborn baby boy in March of 2003. It hurts a lot less now than I ever imagined it would.

I've been so touched by your stories and just wanted to let you know that they mean a lot to me.
