About Me
- Ter
- I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

Friday Fragments: If You Didn't Get Enough Poo Last Week
I'm sorry I haven't been posting all week. I've had lots to say, but my brain circuits have fried. I just can't think long enough to make an actual post. Fragments are easier!
**********
For a good laugh, check out today's Friday Funny!
**********
I have posted a poll on the top corner of my blog. Please take the time to click your answer.

Tuesday: Practicing our Stay/Wait/Come. Out the front yard, not too bad. Out the back (into the park) a whole 'nother story. Lots more smells to smell. And a whole pile of yummy horse sh*t. Yes, my friends, she ate the horse sh*t. Say it all together now... EEWWWWWWWW! (If I have to clean up after my dog, I think they should have to clean up after their horses!)

On a more lovely note, my Irises and Bleeding Hearts are coming up. (links lead to photos I took last year)

My glasses broke on Friday. In the non-repairable kind of way. *sigh*
I had my eye test yesterday. Much to my surprise, I was told my eye sight has improved.
I was also informed that my eyeballs are football-shaped instead of round. O...k...?? Is that bad?
Anyway, I got my prescription and I'll be hunting around for a good deal on new glasses soon. In the main time I'll wear these old bigger-than-my-face glasses:

I just googled football shaped eyes. I knew he mentioned a technical word for it but I couldn't remember it off hand. Well, here's what I found. Figures.

Wednesday: Emma and I went to visit someone I haven't seen in many, many years. I honestly do not remember the last time I saw this woman. It was nice. It was also Emma's first time in a house with a cat. Luckily, she did not eat the cat, though she did lick her lips a couple times. I kept her on the leash the whole time but she did really well. She rarely even tried to leave my side and in fact, she was a suck and tried to crawl onto my lap.
**********
Thursday: I was a "victim" of a Random Act of Kindness. A woman behind me at Superstore paid for my groceries! Wow! I couldn't believe it, I mean, it was at least 30 dollars worth of groceries!
**********
Is it just me, or did April fly right by? Well, this Saturday is the first Saturday of May, so that means another Follower-of-the-Month will be featured!
**********
Monday was 5 months since Bear died (and 3 years, 9 months and 5 days since Babybear died).
**********
Last year around this time, I began to write Babybear's story on my blog. I won't re-write it this year but many of you are new to my blog since I wrote it, so I thought I would link it in case you want to read it. Unfortunately, it's a short, sad story.
May - October has been the hardest time of the year for me the last few years. Please understand it is not going to be any easier this year, and in fact, may be even worse because I don't have Bear here anymore either.

Come back later for VGNO! Don't know what it is? Check out Ann's blog for more details!

Nice photo, Ter ;-) My glasses have gotten progressively smaller over the years...
Why do dogs eat poo, anyway?!?
I don't know what it is, but the dogs eat horse poo here on the farm pretty much on a daily basis. And me yelling at them to stop is pretty much a daily occurrence as well. Silly puppies. Oh and they also eat the cat poo and any other kind they may find while out in the fields. BLECH! ;-) Anyways, I am sorry about your glasses breaking. But then to get your groceries paid for, what a blessing! I will stop back by later for VGNO, have a good day!
That's awesome that someone bought your groceries! It's a great way to brighten someone's day!
My dogs wouldn't leave the horse poop alone when we spent a week at my friend's house last April. They acted like it was some sort of delicacy. She just got a new puppy and says he won't leave it alone either.
My dog used to love all sorts of poo.. sheep, cow, he loved the farm...
I have a crazy astigmatism too. Nothing to worry about, easily corrected with glasses, not as easily, but can be done with contacts.
We have to go glasses shopping. go to www.zennioptical.com
Yay for random acts of kindness!
The car in front of me in the Tim Horton's drive thru once paid for my order. I was so stoked. $30 worth? SA-WEET!
Yay! I love random acts of kindness!
Thinking about you today Ter and hoping that you have a wonderful weekend. I am praying for you too.
Love and Hugs, Laurie
Hugs for Bear and Babybear.
can't believe someone paid for your groceries! How cool!!!
Glad Emma didn't eat the cat!
Bummer about your glasses! My old glasses look that way too, and that is EXACTLY how I feel about them!
I am sorry that the next few months will be rough. We will understand no matter what you need to post or not post or whatever.
You are such a strong, brave woman to me!
I love it when my flowers start to come up.
My glasses are broken too, but I can luckily still wear them. They just scratch my face if I am not careful.
I'm sorry we are coming into your hard time of year.
That is so cool that someone paid for your groceries!
I have astigmatism too! So my eyes must be football shaped too.
I have a history of huge glasses too ... what were we thining!!!!
And I'm sorry to hear that your tough time of the year is coming up ... just go day by day and be gentle with yourself.
Good to know there are people out there who are kind. Too bad about the glasses, but yay! for your eyes improving!!
Hope you had a nice visit with your friend.
