This Blog Has Moved!

I moved my blog on New Years Day, 2010. If you haven't come to see my new blog, head on over HERE now. This blog will be available for archive reading but I won't be posting here anymore. I hope you'll join me at my new bloggy home!

p.s. I am slowly but surely moving all the blogs I follow over to the new blog, so if I haven't come to visit you for a while, my advice is to leave a comment on my new blog, so I don't miss you in the shuffle!

About Me

My photo
I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

Another Altered Notebook

As mentioned previously, I am dropping the card challenge and instead opening up an all-crafts show & tell type thing. Not sure what I'll call it yet. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry for the blurry photo, it didn't look blurry on the view finder! My camera really dislikes taking indoor photos!

This is another altered notebook, which has become my new crafting obsession.

Some of you suggested to me to look for a tiny hole punch at a crafting store, and so recently I took my 40 % off coupon from Michaels and headed over there looking for just that. I found one and ohmyword I love it! I think it was a great investment. I don't think I could ever buy a cheep-from-the-dollar-store crafting tool again!

I have been googling and youtubing craft ideas for more inspiration, and goodness knows I've got some inspiration now! I am hoping that this continues and that I can create some more things, improving my skills.

So a couple conversational questions here:

1. What are your favorite crafting tools?

2. What are some of your favorite craft ideas to give as gifts?

Looking forward to seeing what you've making!

Cool! For crafts a lot of times I'll look through Pottery Barn magazines and similar "chic" magazines and see great craft ideas and then I go to Big Lots/dollar store, etc, and put together their craft for super cheap!

I love my heat gun, it is so fun to watch the powder turn to silver, or gold. I also love all of my punches, especially my two tag punches, I have several sets of tag stamps that you use the smaller punch for and then do the background card stock with a slightly bigger punch. Makes things look nice in a hurry.

Adorable notebook! I love the butterfly. Wish I had some crafting favorites for you...but I'm not so crafty.

i LOVE my cricut, embossing stuff, and any and all punches! :)
gifts...don't make anything for gifts except cross-stitch. i do try to make handmade cards for each occassion but that has fallen by the wayside lately.

I love what you've done with the notebook, Ter! Sorry, but I'm not the craftiest person in town.

Great job altering that notebook! Isn't it fun? I carry mine in my purse so I'm ready to jot down anything.

Hmm...favorite crafting tools... my pencil, metal edged ruler and x-acto knife get used the most. Fun wise, I love my QuicKutz squeeze and dies. Sometimes I wish I had their bigger option or better yet the electronic one, but this handheld tool accomplishes what I need right now and takes up less space.

A few of my favorite craft ideas for gifts - altered brag books, altered jars, mini albums, set of homemade cards.

Love the notebook! I like my paper cutter from Cricut -- it's the kind you slide along the paper to make a cut, and you can switch out the cutting tool for a scoring one which I love for folding cardstock. I also love punches of all kinds. I'm sure there's more but I haven't been crafting much lately.

As for crafts to give as gifts, I've mostly done cross stitch and beaded ornaments. Again, it's been a while. One day, I will rediscover my joy and motivation for crafting....
