About Me
- Ter
- I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

Emma's Spa Day
Emma had a spa day today! I apologize for the poor quality photos, but with all the snow outside, (and it was snowing this morning when I took the first pic), I opted to take photos inside with bad lighting and a pup that won't keep still very long!
This was actually her first grooming. We had three appointments scheduled last year but they all got cancelled! I was so glad this one wasn't!
It's not a huge difference, but I noticed that more of her tan color fur is showing in the chest area. I asked the girl at the counter how Emma was today, but she didn't know. But if I know Emma, she was probably fidgety the whole time. Her bum area still has alot of fur, and I was hoping that part would be trimmed more. I have a feeling though that she probably freaked out when they went near that part of her. I know when we first got her she did not like us touching her tail stub or around that area, most likely because someone lopped off her tail before we got her. She lets us touch her tail stub now but is not as keen to let anyone else touch it. I might attempt to trim some of it myself.
Even though she doesn't look much different, she smells oh-so-yummy!
It was really hard not having her home. I did run some errands but I had a couple hours at home without her before I could go pick her up. My house sure felt big and empty and I felt myself on the verge of tears!
She was so excited when it was time to go, she barely said hello to me and immediately went to the door and tried to open it and when we got to the van she tried to open the door there too! She just wanted to go home! :)
And when we came home she drank 1.5 bowls full of water! I suspect she refused to eat or drink the whole time she was there and probably panted a lot, resulting in a very thirsty Emma!
I think it's safe to say, she's glad to be home!

What a cutie...she looks different in both pictures. My dogs are really stinky, they are in desperate need of a bath! :)
She's such a beautiful dog!
How sweet...you both missed each other and were glad to be back at home together.
Her fur looks so nice and shiny!
Aww she missed you! So sweet. She looks beautiful and squeaky clean! =)
She's really cute Ter.
what a beauty :)
She is oh! so cute!!
Wow I never noticed the tan parts before. She looks gorgeous! I need to get my scruffy muffins groomed in the worst way, but I am waiting til it warms up a little more before I get their summer cuts.
Yay! Pretty Emma is even prettier :-) I can only imagine how happy she was to be at home where she knows she is safe and LOVED!! :-)
(word verification: dicackas...lol)
Wow! Looks almost like a different dog because of the tan spots! And nothing better than a freshly washed dog ... no matter how dainty they are, they just get that doggie smell after a while that can be, how shall we spare Emma's feelings, less than pleasant!
She's so cute!
yeah, my old bosses always had me bring their dogs to the groomers and noticed they didn't trim much in the rear and tail area so I always asked them to do it extra short.
Wow! I never noticed her tan patches before. I thought she was 100% black! Nevertheless, she is STILL a BEAUTIFUL girl...and now she smells beautiful too!
She is so pretty and looks so soft!
She really is your "Healer" like her name says, isn't she? What a sweetie!
