This Blog Has Moved!

I moved my blog on New Years Day, 2010. If you haven't come to see my new blog, head on over HERE now. This blog will be available for archive reading but I won't be posting here anymore. I hope you'll join me at my new bloggy home!

p.s. I am slowly but surely moving all the blogs I follow over to the new blog, so if I haven't come to visit you for a while, my advice is to leave a comment on my new blog, so I don't miss you in the shuffle!

About Me

My photo
I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

Card Making Challenge Week #3

My card for week #3

I made this card for my Mother-In-Law. I haven't seen her since my husband's funeral, and wanted to let her know that I am still thinking of her during this rough time.

I already had the tag but where it is dark green, it was orange. So I took a piece of card stock and punched a little hole in it and managed to fit it under the eyelet. There was also an orange strip at the bottom, which I cut off. I added the purple ribbon and wrote "thinking of you" on the tag. There was a different flower there but I popped it off and added this one to coordinate it with the rest of the card. It's not really white at the top, that's just the inside peeking. The two purple stripes were an after thought as I thought there was too much green between the purples. I don't know about you but I really like the color combo.

If you haven't joined the card challenge, it's not too late! Join Now! Tell all your friends about this challenge!! We will inspire each other!

Prompt for week #4 - flowers

I think you did a great job! The color combo is great and I'm impressed with your ingenuity!

I love the idea of a card challenge! Last year I participated in a card swap. Each month 12 women would all make 12 cards based on a theme. Then we'd get together to exchange them and come home with 12 different cards! Very fun!

Thank you Jo.
Ter, I meant to tell you earlier, your card is beautiful. Your mother-in-law is going to love it and the fact that you made it especially for her is going to mean more to her.
My MIL is my biggest fan of my card making, so every year I always made sure I make a bundle for her and even some art project gifts for her to send.
Thanks for letting me join in on your card making challenge...I love everyone's card that I see.

Great card! I love the color combo too and your idea for putting the green over the orange was very smart. Keep it up!
