This Blog Has Moved!

I moved my blog on New Years Day, 2010. If you haven't come to see my new blog, head on over HERE now. This blog will be available for archive reading but I won't be posting here anymore. I hope you'll join me at my new bloggy home!

p.s. I am slowly but surely moving all the blogs I follow over to the new blog, so if I haven't come to visit you for a while, my advice is to leave a comment on my new blog, so I don't miss you in the shuffle!

About Me

My photo
I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

What Movies Do You Recommend?

I was given a gift code for zip.ca but I can't decide which movies to rent!! Which movies would you recommend?

I mostly watch action, drama, suspense and comedy. I am not much into horror or sci-fi.

Thanks in advance!

Oh yeah...Lars and the Real Girl is a good one, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is one of my favorites! The Pursuit of Happyness is great, so be sure to rent that after you've read the book :)

Oh! I think it's called Employee of the Month? I laughed SO hard at that movie :)

Sweeney Todd is a good one, if you don't mind a little gore. Hairspray is cute.

Hrrrmmm.... I'm thinking...I'm thinking :)

Will post more if I think of them :)

We watch a little of everything here. I really like musicals so Disney's Enchanted, Nightmare Before Christmas and Moulin Rouge are three of my favorites. My all time favorite is Romeo + Juliet - the one with Claire Danes.
Ethan really like the Cohen Brothers films like Fargo, Burn After Reading and The Big Lebowski (sp?). He also really likes the new Batman movies (Batman Returns and The Dark Night).
The Harry Potter movies are great.
Can you rent TV shows from there? There are a ton of TV shows you could get into - Lost and Grey's Anatomy are my favorites.

I gave you my list by email...

-Stardust (A MUST SEE)
-Someone Like You (with Ashley Judd)
-The Imposters (with Stanley Tucci)
-Ella Enchanted (Anne Hathaway)
-The Devil Wears Prada (Anne Hathaway)
-Ready to Rumble (because it's damb funny)
-Journey to the Center of the Earth (the new one with Brendan Frasir)
-Wall-E (so cute. so very cute.)
_What Women Want (Mel Gibson)

That's my list to get you started. Now rent the first four. I'll give you more instructions after you've watched those. This message will self destruct in 5 seconds...

PS: rent Get Smart too. And I have all three Ocean's movies, if you want to watch them, 11, 12 and 13. And the Indianna Jones movies too. Harrison Ford is the hottest old guy ever. Oh darn... out of time....

You've got a lot of good suggestions. Some we've recently rented that I liked (that haven't been listed):

Penelope
Sex and the City (guilty pleasure)

I usually just go to the new release section and pick from that. Lars and the Real Girl was really great.

You could go old-school and get any of the Griswald movies (National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, vegas vacation...) - they are always good for a laugh! The Ocean movies are good too (Oceans' 11 and 12 anyway, I haven't seen 13)
