My friend, Allison, and I have been complaining about our bodies for as long as we've known each other. Recently, we started talking about joining a gym and taking control of this weight issue that has been plaguing us the last few years and in particular since we've both had children.
Last week, I got a flyer in my mailbox from Curves. This is what it said:

Well, we thought this is a good opportunity for us to get started and join the gym. We will feel a little more pressure to attend often enough that perhaps, maybe, just maybe, we'll be on our way to total fitness and a healthier life. Today, we went to our neighborhood Curves and had our pre-assessment. We have our first training workout on Tuesday.
I hope I won't get all wussy and back out. I hope I can see this through. They say it takes 30 days to develop a habit, and I hope this exercise thing will become a habit to me. I want to be comfortable in my own skin. I want my out of proportion body to be in proportion. I want to wear clothes that fit, not clothes that are too small or too big because of my oddness. I want to breathe better, and lower my blood pressure enough that maybe I won't need to be medicated for it anymore. I want to reduce risk of another case of pre-eclampsia. I want to look in the mirror and maybe like that person a little bit.
Wish me Luck.

Wow, that's great! Wish I'd read this sooner...I guess I technically still have a few hours to sign up but there are some other things I want to do as far as exercise goes, so I'll have to push myself harder on those instead. I'll be looking forward to your updates! Congrats! :-)
Good luck Ter! It's good that you're doing it with a friend.
OOoooooo how exciting! You will definitely need to chart your progress on your blog :) And I want to see before and after pics... and I mean full body, not just the partial face pics you love to tease us with :)
I am thrilled for you! You will love it :)
Jo
ps... sorry it took me so long to comment... Shelley was here just for the weekend, so I wasn't on the puter at all. Hugs!
What a deal! I'm rooting for you...
Keep us posted.
Good luck. I noticed that when I started Spinning that it was easier to go with a friend.
Awesome! GOOD LUCK, TER AND ALLISON!
I can't wait to read your next blog about this. Since it is the 26th now, I bet you've already blogged about it! Gotta go...
Congratulations on making the decision to live a healthier lifestyle! I belonged to Curves for a few months when we were in Steinbach and really enjoyed it, but the only way I could go was to get up at 5am, drive in to Wpg to workout for 6am, and then off to work for 7am....it got to be too much. I hope you're more succesful at sticking with it!
good luck!
