This Blog Has Moved!

I moved my blog on New Years Day, 2010. If you haven't come to see my new blog, head on over HERE now. This blog will be available for archive reading but I won't be posting here anymore. I hope you'll join me at my new bloggy home!

p.s. I am slowly but surely moving all the blogs I follow over to the new blog, so if I haven't come to visit you for a while, my advice is to leave a comment on my new blog, so I don't miss you in the shuffle!

About Me

My photo
I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

More Flowers For The Garden

Over the weekend we bought some new plants for the garden. We got a mixture of perennials and annuals. We also recently received some plants from our neighbor as well. Hopefully, this year the garden will survive. We have been trying to get this garden going since we moved into the house and to no avail. Part of the problem is the fact that there are a few trees right outside our fence in the park that our yard backs against. The roots of those trees go under our garden, sucking up all the moisture! The other problem is that it is part shade, but we do get some sun in there earlier in the daytime. This year, I am also using the Miracle Grow Spray that you attach to your garden hose. Last year, I had a mix and was trying to mix it in a watering can but I don't think it did a good enough job in covering the whole space. I hope that this will make a difference!

Anyway, here's a photo of the garden as of last night. Hopefully it will stay nice. The sunflower you saw in a previous post is starting to droop already, but the second head is opening up nicely.

Beautiful flowers! Best of luck with your garden. We're struggling keeping our plants watered down here between the drought & watering restrictions.

Very pretty flowers. When I started my flowerbeds I put lots of manure and peatmoss in mine and they are extremely healthy and easy to maintain now. We have alot of rocks in our yard. Hope that your garden works out for you this year.
