This Blog Has Moved!

I moved my blog on New Years Day, 2010. If you haven't come to see my new blog, head on over HERE now. This blog will be available for archive reading but I won't be posting here anymore. I hope you'll join me at my new bloggy home!

p.s. I am slowly but surely moving all the blogs I follow over to the new blog, so if I haven't come to visit you for a while, my advice is to leave a comment on my new blog, so I don't miss you in the shuffle!

About Me

My photo
I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

Happy Father's Day

Today is Father's Day.

My husband got a bunch of BBQthings for Father's Day from us. BBQ tools, BBQ apron, BBQ glove, BBQ sauce, BBQ meat temperature tester, BBQ wok.
He also got this bookmark that I made for him:
It isn't a very good scan. The part that is white is actually green and blue stripes on white. Where it is darker blue really isn't darker than the rest.
On the back I wrote a little note from our daughter and I added some more of the stripes just to fill in the space. I haven't scanned that part yet. I had it laminated at Staples for like $1.66 cdn. after tax, which isn't too bad, I thought. I wonder if it is worth it to buy your own laminator.
He really liked it and now he can finally get rid of that ratty old bookmark from the library that he's been using.
I only wish he could get a hug from his little girl instead.

What a simple yet beautiful gift for your dh!
I, too, wish Adam had been able to get a hug and kiss from his son Zackery for Father's day.
Father's day (and mother's day for that matter!) does not get any easier the further away from the loss has passed.
I hope your dh felt your daughter nearby today!

What a beautiful, thoughtful gift. I'm sure your DH loves it. :)

As for the laminating - do you have a Xyron? I have this one. You can buy both adhesive & laminate refills for it.

I bet he liked it a lot. I have looked at laminators and right now I don't think I do enough laminating to justify buying one, but maybe someday. :-)
