This Blog Has Moved!

I moved my blog on New Years Day, 2010. If you haven't come to see my new blog, head on over HERE now. This blog will be available for archive reading but I won't be posting here anymore. I hope you'll join me at my new bloggy home!

p.s. I am slowly but surely moving all the blogs I follow over to the new blog, so if I haven't come to visit you for a while, my advice is to leave a comment on my new blog, so I don't miss you in the shuffle!

About Me

My photo
I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

Disappointing Meal

We decided to stop at Boston Pizza for supper tonight. Usually, it is one of my favorite places to go for a casual meal. We ordered Bandera Pizza Bread as an appetizer. This was good, as always.

I have the tendency to order the same meals every time. This time, however, I decided to try something different. My husband talked me into getting the Baked Shrimp and Feta Penne. It is described as "penne tossed in a creamy tomato sauce, loaded with shrimp, feta, green onion and mushroom, baked with mozzarella."

I have to tell you, I couldn't eat more than a couple bites of this dish! There was hardly any sauce worth mentioning. The noodles were more plain than anything. It was NOT loaded with shrimp. I think I found maybe 5 tiny shrimp in the whole thing. I did not taste any feta, but it was probably melted away. The mushroom was in such tiny pieces, I could not taste it. The green onion looked like spinach or some other greenery.

I just could not eat it beyond the first couple bites. I told the waitress that I did not like it, sorry. She looked sympathetic, but still offered to wrap it up to go, which is what my husband wanted.

Well, this won't stop me from going to Boston Pizza again, but I won't be ordering any more pasta there! There's a reason I stick to my favorite dishes!

We just had a horrible experience at Bennigan's last night! The food was good... the service sucked!

I feel for you :(

I hope your next visit will be more enjoyable :)

Sorry it wasn't any good. I order the same thing every place too. I know that it's good and I don't want to starve. :)

I always order the same things at restaurants, too. Then I think I should try something new, and when I do I end up being disappointed and wondering why I didn't just order my usual. It's safe to stick to your favorites.

I think it's good that you spoke up. The cooks and management should know what their customers think of their food, and I think you handled it politely. Of course, sometimes it's just a personal preference whether or not you like a new dish, but in this case you didn't think it matched the description given on the menu, and they need to know that. It's still fun to try new things now and again, but sometimes you do have to stick to the tried and true.
