This Blog Has Moved!

I moved my blog on New Years Day, 2010. If you haven't come to see my new blog, head on over HERE now. This blog will be available for archive reading but I won't be posting here anymore. I hope you'll join me at my new bloggy home!

p.s. I am slowly but surely moving all the blogs I follow over to the new blog, so if I haven't come to visit you for a while, my advice is to leave a comment on my new blog, so I don't miss you in the shuffle!

About Me

My photo
I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

Biggest Loser (Season 8) - Like Looking In A Mirror

I do not talk about television alot on my blog, but believe you me, I sure watch a lot of it. Probably too much, in fact.

However, tonight, I would like to talk about The Biggest Loser.

Earlier tonight, The Biggest Loser premiered it's 8th season. I never watched this show until recently. I started watching it in repeats in the middle of the night during bouts of insomnia. Last season, I watched it in prime time from beginning to end. I'm hooked.

This season, I think, will be an emotional one to watch. Right from the get-go there was lots of tears and lots of surprises and even some very scary moments.

Any of you watching tonight will probably have already guessed that I relate most to Abby.

Abby, besides having a weight problem, also lost her entire family. I cried and I cried as I heard her story. I hope she wins, if for no other reason than the fact that she's me. In many ways, she really is me.

I've been saying for a while now that if The Biggest Loser ever gets a Canadian version of the show, I will apply for it. But until now, I thought, why would they choose someone who isn't worried about dying. Who, in fact, would be happy to die, given the chance?

I guess this proves me wrong. They chose Abby to be a contestant on the show.

Abby said it best, when she talked about not being afraid to die. But since she's here, she will live the best life she can.

And so... then... will I.

(Please come to Canada, Biggest Loser, please, please, pretty please, [and no whipped cream nor cherries on top because that would defeat the purpose but I'll eat it if you don't come here!]?)

It's odd that you post this tonight... I am a HUGE Biggest Loser fan- never miss and episode- but I missed this one- because of my sweet boys' birthdays (and thank you for YOUR comment- tears-)

Anyway- I was so upset when I realized I had missed it... (too busy blogging) and my mom called me to tell me about this- About Abby and her story and I IMMEDIATELY thought of you! (Not because of the weight... you are funny!) but because of your sorrow- and your common bond- one that I cannot begin to understand though I try... I shared your story with my mom-
Go Abby!
Hugs to you- and your story- and how you (like Abby) are inspiring others!!!!

Ter, Anything that gives you even an ounce more strength to carry on is fantastic. Knowing you aren't alone in your situation is often the biggest help one can have.

I don't watch this show (for reaasons that we've had many discussions about, it's not Sci nor Fi, therefore... well, we'll end it there. ha!) but I'll be watching for more posts from you abou this.

HUGS!

I've never watched the show, but was real tempted this season when I saw the previews. I really don't watch very much TV at all!
I would love it if the show would come there and you could get on....how awesome! I don't know if I'd ever have the guts to be on a reality TV show~

I've never watched this show (but I probably should as I could stand to lose) but I can imagine that Abby's story would hit home with you. Hugs.
