This Blog Has Moved!

I moved my blog on New Years Day, 2010. If you haven't come to see my new blog, head on over HERE now. This blog will be available for archive reading but I won't be posting here anymore. I hope you'll join me at my new bloggy home!

p.s. I am slowly but surely moving all the blogs I follow over to the new blog, so if I haven't come to visit you for a while, my advice is to leave a comment on my new blog, so I don't miss you in the shuffle!

About Me

My photo
I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

Friday Fragments: It's Been 4 Months

Welcome to another edition of Friday Fragments!

********
Today is 4 months since my husband died in November.

I wrote a post on our cancer blog, if you wish to read it.

********

Don't miss your chance to ask me questions! I will be posting answers sometime soon.

********

That basket of towels I told you about in the last two Friday Fragments?

I finally put them away! Go me!

********

Random thought of the week:

"F***ing Snow!"

(I said that a few times) (okay, more than a few times)

********

I finally, FINALLY!, got a chance to see the whole first season of 24 on DVD. I heart Jack Bauer!
(I've never seen it on TV yet, so don't tell me what happens!!)

********

Why is it whenever my nails crack, they do so right across the most painful part where you can't clip them or file them any closer? I took a pic, but then decided who really wants to see a pic of my broken nail?

********

Starting in April, I will be doing "Follower of The Month" segments. I've already got my April Follower lined up! If you'd like to be a FOTM, email me! (or I might email you, or not.)

********

Like to read? Join The Spring Reading Thing!

Read here to find out how and to see my list of books (which hopefully will grow).

********

I joined SITS recently. If you're here from SITS, a big HELLO and WELCOME to you. Thank you for visiting and I hope you'll come again soon!

********

Come back later today for a Friday Funny and VGNO!

Hey girl, you need a hug...?
I've often wondered - which is hug? The X? or the O?
I'd love to hear your thoughts, b/c seriously; if I put the X AND the O, it'll seem inappropriate. Just the X, if that's the kiss...eek. Same for O
So while I'm all about the sharing bloglove with a SITSter, my hands are tied for the virtual display of affection.
(Oh; and the broken fingernail thing? one of my nails does that ALL the time. Go ahead; post a pic.)
TGIF sweetie.

Four months, I'm sure it has felt long and short at the same time. A friend of our lost his wife in October and he still struggles daily.

It was snowing here the morning too. :)

Hey good job on the basket of towels. I have a basket of socks I have to fold since January. I just keep adding to the basket. My husband now knows to go to the basket to find socks.

Thinking of you on this 4 month day Ter. Praying for you as you work your way through your huge loss. I will go and read your post there when I am done here. I absolutely love the 24 Series. I have bought them all and watched them without commercials. I gave up trying to watch on TV and just wait for the DVD to come out. I hope you have a good day and wonderful weekend. You sure have earned it sweetie. Love you.

Love and Hugs, Laurie

I got chill bumps reading your stories. My husband is in the military, so we have lost a few friends through war and accidents. I am sorry you had to experience this twice and so close to you. Lots of hugs coming your way!

Thinking of you today. {{Ter}}

When my nails do that I put super glue on the split and then paint over the whole nail with nail strenghtener. It will usually last at least two or three days which allows it to grow out a tiny bit and then it doesn't hurt as much when I have to clip it. You can also super glue a sliver of paper from a tea bag as a patch to hold the nail together.
