This Blog Has Moved!

I moved my blog on New Years Day, 2010. If you haven't come to see my new blog, head on over HERE now. This blog will be available for archive reading but I won't be posting here anymore. I hope you'll join me at my new bloggy home!

p.s. I am slowly but surely moving all the blogs I follow over to the new blog, so if I haven't come to visit you for a while, my advice is to leave a comment on my new blog, so I don't miss you in the shuffle!

About Me

My photo
I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

Another Portrait By Dana

(Reminder: Don't miss your chance to ask me questions! One week only! Click here for details)

You may recall this post in which I told you of a beautiful portrait I had done of my daughter by a wonderful artist by the name of Dana. ( Portraits By Dana )

Recently, I emailed Dana and told her that my husband has also passed away and would she be able to piece together a portrait of their reunion?

After discussing the portrait and and sharing photos, Dana was so very kind to me as to offer this for free of charge. Now, I know this is unusual for her and I was rendered almost speechless at this offer. As many of you know, I find it overwhelming to receive so much kindness from strangers because I feel I do not always feel worthy of it. I don't bring this up to brag, but, instead, to show the kindness of Dana's heart.

The portrait arrived today, and so I thought what a good time to start my Mailbox Monday segment!

This photo below is actually the preview she sent to me.

Isn't it wonderful? I highly recommend Dana if you would like a portrait done of your loved one. As I mentioned in the post about my daughter's portrait, she has an eye for detail and she was able to draw my daughter based on not-so-good-quality photos.

Thank you, Dana. Once again, you have touched my heart in a way that I just can not explain. You have used your talent in such a profoundly meaningful way, and there are just no words... just...

THANK YOU.

Wow. What a kind heart she has -- and lovely talent. And don't feel like your don't deserve things like this -- accept all the grace the world has to give you given all the awfulness you've had to endure.
