This Blog Has Moved!

I moved my blog on New Years Day, 2010. If you haven't come to see my new blog, head on over HERE now. This blog will be available for archive reading but I won't be posting here anymore. I hope you'll join me at my new bloggy home!

p.s. I am slowly but surely moving all the blogs I follow over to the new blog, so if I haven't come to visit you for a while, my advice is to leave a comment on my new blog, so I don't miss you in the shuffle!

About Me

My photo
I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

Card Making Challenge Week #4

This is my card for week #4

I hope I didn't over do it with the embellishments. The ribbon just looked too plain to not add anything to it. This is probably the first card I've made without having anyone in mind to give it to. I think that was a bit challenging on it's own. But I think it turned out okay. The embellishments came from a kit that I had picked up from a dollar store, like last year!

I used glue dots to secure the ribbon.... and it made me wonder how other people secure ribbon on their cards and scrapbook pages... what do you do?

If you've yet to join our challenge, it's never too late! Jump in any time, and don't forget to tell your friends and fellow bloggers! The more the merrier! The point of this challenge is to inspire each other and to share our creativeness.

Next week's prompt: Brads (use a brad on your card)

(note: you do not have to follow the prompts... the prompts are just there to get you started if you're stuck on ideas!)

Post your card in Mr. Linky below....

I love it! My favorite color!

I don't think there are too many embellishments. I like all the sparklies :)

As for ribbon... I put mine through a sticker maker :)

Very cute. I never did learn how to brad.

Such a pretty card, Ter! I love the sparkle and the fun paper behind your flowers. :)

I've attached ribbons to cards and layouts in a number of different ways: glue dots, glue, sewing (hand & machine), staples, brads, etc. For me, it all depends upon the design and what I have on hand.

Hey Ter, I love your card. It's very cute!! I will post my card tomorrow.

Oh about the ribbon..I usually rotate using mini dot like you did with yours and mono adhesive.

Hi Ter,
I've finally posted my card for this week's challenge.

Looking forward to next week's challenge. Thanks

I have used many methods including my adhesive roller, but my favorite way is to thread it through a double punched hole and secure it with a brad slightly larger than the width of the ribbon.

Oh I'm so glad to see newbies to the challenge :)

The card looks great...not too many embellishments at all. I think glue/adhesive on a roll works well for more sturdy ribbons but I once made something with a thin ribbon and I think the glue kind of showed through, so in that case I might use brads next time instead.
