This Blog Has Moved!

I moved my blog on New Years Day, 2010. If you haven't come to see my new blog, head on over HERE now. This blog will be available for archive reading but I won't be posting here anymore. I hope you'll join me at my new bloggy home!

p.s. I am slowly but surely moving all the blogs I follow over to the new blog, so if I haven't come to visit you for a while, my advice is to leave a comment on my new blog, so I don't miss you in the shuffle!

About Me

My photo
I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

Balancing in High Heels - Eileen Rendahl

I was browsing through the library stacks looking for something to pop out at me and grab my attention. I had no title in mind but I wanted something different to read.

The fancy font on this book grabbed my attention. Yes, I know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but sometimes it works!
I don't recall ever reading a book by the author, Eileen Rendahl before, but after reading this book, I'll be sure to read her other titles.
The description on the back of the book is a bit misleading. It makes it sound like this is a romance novel, but while there is some romance in this book, that is not the main topic of the book.
The story is about Alissa Lindley, a lawyer whose momentarily lapse of judgement lands her in Anger Management class.
Looking for a fresh start, she returns to her childhood home. There, she finds herself in the midst of one of the strangest cases the county has ever seen.

This book had me laughing out loud several times and if time had allowed, I could have read it all in one sitting.
I definitely recommend this book!

It mean one of two things when a book makes a reader laugh out loud:

1) The writer has a GREAT sense of humor and excellent skills at portraying such.

2) The reader is "easy."

I judge books by their covers all the time. Most of the time it works out for me. I got Fruit of the Lemon because I liked the cover. I love that book!

I'll admit I love the eye catching cover. I love a funny bit of chick lit. I'm off to see if my library has that one.
