About Me
- Ter
- I am a bereaved mother and wife. I began this blog to help me look for the "good things" in life after my daughter, "Babybear", died in July 2005. Three years later, her daddy, my husband, "Bear", died in November 2008. (You'll find a link to their stories on my blog) And now, as difficult as it is, I continue to look for the good things in my life as I learn my new normal with my pup, "Furrybear", at my side. And the angels on my shoulder...

Talk about Tuesday
(click above banner to see more participants)
I have a fair bit to talk about today, since I missed last week's TAT and I have some new things to talk about today.
A Thank You
First, I would like to thank everyone for their condolences on the loss of our family dog Scottie. The last time I saw him, he had lost a fair bit of weight and was walking kind of oddly. I knew it might be one of the last times I saw him and I took some photos. It was difficult to take the photos because he kept moving, but I think I got one or two. I'll have to find them so I can send them to mom.
The Day That Never Came...
Today is the second anniversary of what was my due date. When a baby is born, a due date becomes kind of a forgotten fact, as focus shifts to the day the baby was actually born. However, when a baby dies before it is born (as my daughter did at 26 weeks gestation) or when a baby is severely premature, the due date becomes embedded in the parents minds, especially the mother. It is a painful day for me, a painful week, because I know I should be celebrating my daughter's second birthday right about now.
Walk to Remember
On October 20th, the first annual Walk to Remember was held in our town. I am particularly excited about this because I was one of the organizers and we had a pretty decent turn out for the first year (approx. 25 people). The Walk to Remember was organized in conjunction with Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day (Oct. 15th). Here in Canada, it is not yet officially recognized except in New Brunswick, but with more awareness it will eventually be recognized throughout the nation.
Happy Birthday
my brother's 1st bday (1979)
My brother is 29 yrs old today. I know I'm having trouble believing it because, well, he's supposed to be 3 yrs younger than me and *I* am 29... (nearly x 3).
Happy Birthday to my brother.

I had a miscarriage very early in my pregnancy in late May. As the holidays approach, I know I would have been in the last trimester and have the feeling of loss even though we are fortunate enough to have 4 year old twins. You are in my prayers this week.
I am thinking of you Teri.
I am so sorry that this is been such ahard week on you.
I pray that you have a Happy birthday.
Ok so I am a dork Happy birthday to your bother...
Always good to 'meet' a fellow Manitoban! Thanks for stopping by!
So sorry that this week is so hard for you. I have had 4 miscarriages, none that far along thank goodness, but I understand a tiny bit what you must feel. ((hugs))Sorry about your dog, too.
thanks for commenting on my blog, and for what it's worth, I would have loved to have had one of those plastic costumes with the plastic mask. That's the kind my mom wouldn't get for me.
I think it's wonderful that you organized and event had a nice turnout. These little ones are precious and we should remember them.
A Walk to Remember is a great event. Good job for organizing it, I'm glad that others are recognizing it too.
I don't have a lot to say, but I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone and I hope you have a better week. I keep thinking about the baby that I could have, but that things didn't work out. ((HUGS))
I hope your brother enjoyed his birthday. Geez, I was 11 when that pic was taken of him. And you're calling yourself old! ;-)
If all my children had been born to term, in addition to my 2 that I have now, I'd have a 4 year old, another 3 year old (that one would have overlapped my DD's pregnancy so that baby in my mind's eye isn't as real) and I'd be having a new baby in 2 weeks. Sometimes I see them in my minds eye. Wish me luck getting through March 6 in one piece.
Blessings to you, and a prayer for your angel baby.
